What the course is
NGH India trains consulting hypnotists to the standard of the National Guild of Hypnotists, USA, and issues the Guild's Certified Consulting Hypnotist credential. The teaching is live rather than recorded, the practice is supervised rather than self-reported, and the hours are documented rather than estimated.
The programme is the same wherever it is taken. Online, Delhi NCR, Dubai or McLeodganj — the credential is identical, and so is the examination behind it.
Who it is for
Two kinds of applicant, and the honest answer differs for each.
If you already hold a clinical licence — medicine, psychology, counselling — hypnosis becomes one more instrument inside a scope you already carry. The course adds technique and the judgement to use it; your licence continues to define what you may treat.
If you do not, the course qualifies you as a consulting hypnotist. That is real work with a real credential: habit change, performance, general stress, procedural anxiety. It is not a licence to diagnose or treat mental illness, and no hypnosis certification anywhere confers one. Recognising a presentation that belongs with a licensed clinician, and referring it, is taught and assessed.
Where the hours go
The hundred hours are not a round number chosen for a brochure. They divide as live teaching 40, supervised practice 30, peer work 15, case portfolio 10, examination 5 — and each component keeps its own evidence: attendance register, trainer sign-off, countersigned practice logs, a portfolio file, an examination record. The syllabus sets out the sequence session by session.
Two safety gates must be passed at 100% or repeated: the anaesthesia rules, and the abreaction protocol before regression work opens.
What happens after
Certification is the start of the part that lasts. Graduates join the NGH India Chapter: the first-Sunday supervision room online, and the annual gathering on 20 November. Fellows may add up to 100 further hours of supervised practice within the chapter, arranged with a consenting Fellow at no extra cost. That circuit is optional, logged separately, and confers no additional certificate — the CCH is and remains a 100-hour certification.
How to compare this with anything else
Four questions separate training worth paying for from the rest, and they work on any provider, including this one.
Who issues the certificate — the school itself, or a body that exists independently of it? A credential the trainer awards to their own students has no external check.
Are the hours published, and is there evidence behind each one? “Certification” without an hour count is a word, not a standard.
What does the provider refuse to teach? A syllabus with no limits has not thought about scope.
What happens after the certificate? If the answer is an alumni mailing list, the relationship ended at payment.
